About Alene
Alene is based in the Hudson Valley, where her home studio is, and the Catskill Mountains in New York state. She regularly travels to Connecticut and throughout the tri-state area, and is available nationwide for projects.
With more than 15 years of industry experience spanning production, styling, photography, and post-production, Alene brings together every stage of the creative process into a single, reliable partnership. She is a trained photographer and expert retoucher — a subject matter expert in a kind, flexible, down-to-earth, and dependable package.
Alene served nearly two years in-house at Guidecraft as photographer, photo editor, and assistant producer, where she photographed furniture, toys, and children for e-commerce and catalogs, managed retouching budgets across an international team, and designed building plans for a large-scale photography studio in Vietnam.
She spent over three years managing the gallery and studio of architectural photographer Richard Margolis in Rochester, NY, producing and curating exhibitions, maintaining digital asset archives, and managing studio operations.
Born in Port Chester, NY and raised in Putnam County, she earned a BFA in Professional Photographic Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology, where she was trained in digital retouching, digital photography, inkjet printing, traditional photographic materials, contemporary art history, decorative arts, archival materials, and Italian language. She studied abroad in Genoa, Italy.
